The Bullwinkle is an off-road touring and trekking bar, a modern ATB take on the legendary bullmoose stem & handlebar combo. We've always loved the classic form, with thanks to Tom Ritchey for the early 80’s invention, and we’re really happy with this reimagining. We think the geometry is a great blend of all day comfort and precise control.
*A note about the satin chrome finish. At first glance it's an odd choice, but it goes spectacularly with non high-polished aluminum parts. Which means most aluminum parts. A very similar color to a classic Nitto Techonomic or Pearl stem, for reference.
Designers Notes
Bar has a wide area before sweep, this…
- Reduces the extension tube length
- Maximizes butted handlebar length for better “flex” or “compliance”
- Wide, flat area for mounting bags and accessories
If the bar began to sweep at the extension tubes, the “stem” length would be around 90mm. “Stem length” is hard to calculate on this type of bar. The extension at hand placement is similar to a Country bar with a 70mm stem or a Jones bar with an 80mm stem.
